The 70 million Egyptians are living mainly along the Nile valley and the delta from Assuan to Alexandria. Only view villages and city can be find along the Mediterranean and Red Sea coast. 94 -96% of the Egyptians are Moslems and approx. 3 to 4 million koptic Christians are living in Egypt as well.
Tha capital of the country is Cairo, where about 18 million registered people living, in addition to 2-4 million non registered inhabitants. In addition to this 2 million people are living in the satellite cities in the outkirts of Cairo and driving every day to work into town.
Spoken language is Arabic. English and French are teached in school and therefore widely understood. In tourist areas are more or less all languages are spoken!
Das Straßennetz in Ägypten ist gut ausgebaut. Es herrschen die international gültigen Verkehrsregeln. Trotzdem gleicht der Verkehr eher einem organisiertem Chaos und Vorfahrt hat der Clevere. Leihwagen sind sind in den größeren Städten (Hurghada, Safaga) erhältlich. Nervenschonender ist jedoch die Benutzung von Bussen oder Taxis für längere Strecken.
